Adding Q & A from WPMUDev to the Roots Theme
If you’ve ever heard of Stack Overflow, you’ll probably be interested to know that there is a WordPress plugin that gives you similar functionality to that offered by Stack Overflow.
WPMUDev have created a plugin called Q & A plugin which I’ve used previously over at Fitness Saver, but adding it here to the Affiliate Web Designers site I found things a little trickier.
I’m using the Roots theme, which I really like – it’s clean, has responsive design and HTML 5 built in. But in this theme, things are handled a little differently from the norm.
This meant the Q & A plugin went a little screwy, but after a few hours of messing about with the templates I finally cracked it.
I’ll be using the Q & A plugin for a variety of features here on this site – for voting feature requests up or down, for members and visitors to ask affiliate or datafeedr related questions and maybe for some other categories that I think of in the future.
If anyone needs to know how I managed to crack this and get the Q & A plugin working with the Roots theme, vote the feature request up here.
You can also now ask any question you like too and post any of your own feature requests and if enough people vote it up, I’ll prioritise it.
