Transcription: I’m going to talk to you about conversion optimisation. Now this matters for everything you do, if you are an affiliate advertiser or marketer it is key if you want to make money. Now what it means is that when people come to your site, you want have a low as bounce rate as possible so that they stay on your site. So they immediately realise that they are on the right page, you have the products that they want, they trust you, that you know what you are doing and you make it nice and easy for them. There’s a terminology which is ‘Attract, Engage, Convert, Delight’. That’s the work flow or the life cycle. Some people call it the sales funnel. So attract is bringing them to your websites through adverts, seo, social media or advertising campaigns or email marketing – whatever at all. There is a whole barnish of stuff for attracting people – writing a good advert is a skill within itself, writing good SEO snippets is a skill, writing good emails is a skill. So that’s the attract part but when they get to your site you need to engage them. Which means a bunch of things – you need to make it immediately obvious that they have come to the right place. Nice clear call to action, don’t have a confusing landing page, make it obvious what they have to do next. people don’t like to read, they hate to read they are looking for a button to click, they are looking for how to get to the product they want to buy or find out more about it as quickly as possible. And then, Converting them is getting them to do whatever you want them to do. This depends on your sales funnel. If a small product you might want to sell to them straight away, if not then you might be trying to get them on to a free trial, or getting them onto your email list or just getting them to link your page. That’s the converting part. Now Delighting them is making them happy with what you have done. Which could be in order to then push them further down the sales funnel or to be to encourage them to share your services or products or whatever it is you are promoting or selling. Conversion Optimisation sounds simple but there is a lot to it and I will go into it more in another video.
